Here is how the dialog on Twitter unfolded…

Becker wrote: “Don’t like no #rats! Anyone telling off fellow sportsman/lady is not any pal of mine!

“Look yourself in the mirror and think your better than us…”

Kyrgios, who has simply revealed his new girlfriend, hit again: “For goodness sake Boris, I’m not competing or trying to throw anyone under the bus.

“It’s a global pandemic and if someone is as idiotic as Alex to do what he has done, I’ll call him out for it. Simple.”

However Becker continued: “All of us dwell in the pandemic known as #Covid-19! It’s horrible and it killed to many lives…

“We should protect our families/loved ones and follow the guidelines but still don’t like #rats”.

By no means one to be outdone, Kyrgios replied: “Rats? For holding somebody accountable?

“Unusual approach to consider it champion, I’m simply searching for individuals.

WHEN my household and households everywhere in the world have respectfully achieved the fitting factor and you might have a goose waving his arms round, imma say one thing.

“@TheBorisBecker is a bigger doughnut than I thought. Can hit a volley, obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed though.”

Getting sarcastic, Becker replied: “Your funny guy ….how is it down under? Respect all the guidelines?”

Kyrgios quipped again: “Haha nah bro I’m good, don’t act like you’re my friend now because you got sat down.”
